Research Plan for the 2nd Semester

Posted on August 20, 2008. Filed under: Research Project |

During the first semester I was able to work out the infusion and crude extract of the plant under study. I basically developed the first stage of the methodology but I still need to optimize the method for identification of compounds in each fraction by selecting the best mixture of solvents by TLC. This is an important step since our goal for this semester is to characterize the compounds of interest by NMR. After having the optimal mixture of solvents I will be working with the separation and purification of compounds by Preparative TLC and Column Chromatography. We are also searching for an appropriate bioassay that will be performed for each fraction to identify if there is any bioactivity present.

I will keep you posted about any accomplishments in our research!

Agradecere me contactes urgentemente.
